Idrija Lace, History Written in Thread
The permanent exhibition features the more than 300-year-long tradition of bobbin lacemaking in the Idrija region, placing Idrija on the Slovenian and European map of lacemaking centres. The elementary and secondary school bobbin lace, lacemaking accessories, a lace shop and the use of the lace in the past and today. They learn about the importance of the Idrija Lacemaking School for continuing the tradition of bobbin lacemaking and test themselves in lacemaking.
